Winter 08 Fashion 2 by Marcusstratus Winter 08 Fashion 2 by Marcusstratus
If you were to see me walking around Portland during the cold weather, this may be something you'd see me wearing.

I'm sporting my military surplus overcoat, 20 hole boots, army pants (which you can't really see, but they're there!) and my beanie.

Key points that make this fashion Weerd are:
-The belt over the jacket again.
-Tall leather boots.
-The cap beanie with goggles on 'em
- and doing a bit o' art on the jacket.

Is the leather of your boots soft? Or are you wearing them with really thick socks?
The reason for this is that I have military boots as well, but upon wearing them they gave me open sores on my ankles because the leather deformed and started rubbing against my skin. :|

These are Dr. Martens and the leather isn't very supple. However, I've broken them in and they're more flexible now then they used to be. You might try soaking the upper part of the shoe a bit and then wearing them until they're mostly dry. That way the leather might shape to your foot a little better. If your shoes get wet and you leave them to dry in an odd position, they'll dry and be stuck in that position until you bend them around enough to loosen them up. I would also try oiling the shoes a bit with vegetable oil, that usually softens them.

This is seriously awesome :D I love the steampunk feel to it! What did you use to paint the gear on the back? It looks very much like it belongs there.

Did you use some sort of template when you were applying the ink? It just looks so perfect!

Someone's ready for the apocalypse!
That's seriously cool, i wish the army surplus stores near me had greatcoats and such as cool as that.
Did you put the cut thing up the back, or did it come that way? Almost looks like it's for a motorcyclist or something.
And those boots...*drools*
so much steampunk goodness!

The vent in the back was already there.... I am thinking of definitley doing some altering to this though, especially as the weather warms up.

yeah they are Dr. Martens, but I got it as a gift from me brother. They also used to be black, until I used a spray on dye which has held up excelent.

Quite a nice gift! And that's a dye? Wow, may I ask what brand? I've got a nice pair of boots that i got super cheap, but they're black and....well...black.

Aye, it's "Meltonian Nu life color spray", and I also got some "Color preparer" by the same brand. Got it at the local leather store, you may be able to find it at a shoe repair place.
