After making this belt for my mother for Christmas of '11, I've been wanting to make myself an equally nice belt. This I got started and had finished in time for the Chance Menswear Fall season fashion show up in Seattle on 2/11/12. Here you can see me wearing it [link]

It's vegetable tanned leather with solid brass hardware and hand dyed and waxed linen thread. Used professional leather stains sold by Tandy/Leatherfactory to get this color quality.

this is as beautiful as the belt you did not stain, i am curious though, what did you use to line the inside of the belt?

Same leather as on the outside. I was just careful not to get any dye on it... Dyed the one half before assembling the belt and then dyed the edges of both layers after assembly

so the leather is double sided then? the leather i usually get is rough on the inside?

Yeah, all leather has the grain side (smooth) and the flesh side (rough) unless it's split leather (like suede) then it will have rough on both sides. I glued the flesh sides of each piece together so that the grain is showing on both sides.
