Leather Brimmed Hat by Marcusstratus Leather Brimmed Hat by Marcusstratus
Here's a Super Terrific hat. Not only is the green corduroy an amazing colour but the brim is Leather! and it matches all my other leather junk!! (because for the longest time I've only had one colour of dye... soon to change)

I originally made this hat just to be a brimless slouch cap. However, when I first wore it to get groceries in the evening I was realizing just how much I utilized the brims on my hats. So I got the idea while I was walking to make a leather brim that would match the vegetable ivory button on the top (as well as my belt) So when I got home I popped the brim out and put the eyelits on to help with heat ventilation (in theory anyway)

Thank you! Everything posted in my gallery under Artisan Crafts I made. This hat was done on a sewing machine and then the brim was riveted on as a great after thought.

I'm curious. Does this style of hat have a name, or is it completely original? I remember seeing a similar hat worn by Leonardo di Caprio's character in Gangs of New York.

Yeah, I think I've seen it most often called a "newsboy" hat.
