I haven't done a large leather bag since the Heirloom Bag back at the end of 2011, lately it's all been little accessories like belts and such. Made this one as a thank you gift for an Aunt of my wife's who has given us a lot of help the last few years. Designed to hold books primarily, but would also work for groceries, a weekends worth of clothing, or whatever. It doesn't have a fastener on front, just the weight of the flap keeps it closed.
Used one-piece construction method similar to how Weerd Bag III was made. This is a different leather, that and the fact that I reinforced some of the panels makes for a more stable bag and it wont become as floppy. The concept behind one-piece construction is to encourage upcycling. When this is no longer able to function as a bag, or when the owner doesn't want it as a bag it can provide plenty of material to allow for more things to be made.
Adjustable shoulder strap, two inside pockets, feet on the bottom, suede lining, etc.
Measures 11"t x 14"w x 5"d
Veg tanned leather, suede lining, solid brass hardware, reinforced with rawhide, stitched with 100% linen thread.
